Intervention plastique

Intervention plastique, 2002

This work is inspired by the image of pieces of plastic, rubbish bags, etc. left behind in trees and bushes.
Earlier I made a series of photos of these traces of human presence.
For Intervention plastique I printed one of these photos on Duratrans (a shiny, transparent material) that I put it in a frame made out of materials found in the forest and hung it between the trees. The reflection of the bushes and trees on the plastic and the photo of the rubble created an estranged relationship between what is represented by the photo and the reality of the forest.
